The processes in this SOP draw from methods used by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and as described by the Instream Flow Council (Annear et al. 2004). This SOP was developed by Candice Heinz with the CDFW IFP, and NettetDeer Creek is a Sacramento River tributary that supports a wild, genetically distinct population of Central Valley spring-run Chinook salmon, as well as fall-run Chinook salmon and steelhead trout. Deer Creek was identified as a high priority stream by CDFW for instream flow assessment.
