We needed nothing more than the death certificates, ID, & to sign a disclaimer to withdraw & close bank accounts with Santander £18,000 for 1 death, & Lloyds £14,000 for another death. Wills were not asked for, & neither was it necessary to wait for probate. The accounts were way below both banks limit for releasing the funds.
